FAQ

what to bring

When packing for your East Africa Yacht Charter, remember that space is limited, so packing light is essential.

Luggage: Use soft-sided luggage (like duffel bags) as it’s easier to store. Hard suitcases may scratch the yacht’s surfaces and are hard to stow away.

Clothing: Pack light summer clothes like swimsuits, t-shirts, skirts, and shorts for the sunny Zanzibar climate. Bring light trousers or dresses for dining ashore, and Kikoi for onboard or the beach. Consider old t-shirts for sun protection during water activities.

Shoes: Most yachts have a “barefoot” policy. White rubber-soled sandals are ideal for the deck. Avoid heels and black-soled shoes, which can damage the yacht.

Accessories: Sunglasses, sunblock, and a hat are a must. Bring a book, iPod, and camera for entertainment and memories.

Tips:
• Leave valuables and non-waterproof items at home.
• Pack light; you’ll probably wear less than you pack.
• Make room for souvenirs or bring a foldable bag for extra purchases.
• Pack extra hats and essential items like camera batteries (they may be hard to find in remote areas).

Don’t forget:
• High-factor sunscreen
• Waterproof camera case
• Travel documents, passport, and visa
• Prescriptions or seasickness medication
• Personal scuba/snorkel gear if preferred
