Why Choose Us for Your Zanzibar Fishing Charter?

At Zanzibar Yacht Charters, fishing isn’t just a service—it’s part of who we are. Through our specialized sportfishing division, Fishing Zanzibar Co Ltd (founded in 2005), we’ve spent nearly two decades guiding anglers through some of the richest game fishing waters in East Africa. Our captains know where to go, what to target, and when to go there. Whether you’re a first-time fisherman or a seasoned angler chasing trophies, we’ve got you covered.

What’s the Deep Sea Experience Like?

Whether you choose a full-day charter or a multi-day liveaboard, deep sea fishing gives you the best chance to hook big game at prime times—sunrise and sunset. Each trip includes a high-performance sportfishing boat equipped with GPS, sonar, and top-tier Shimano or Penn reels. You’ll be guided by an experienced local crew, with all gear, cold drinks, and meals (on longer trips) provided.

Fishing Liveaboards – Latham Island & Pemba Channel

For a true offshore adventure, our fishing liveaboard safaris visit two iconic big game spots in Tanzania: Latham Island, known for remote open-ocean fishing for tuna, marlin, dorado, and wahoo, with deep drop-offs among East Africa’s most productive grounds, and the Pemba Channel, world-famous for big game fishing, where deep, nutrient-rich waters attract sailfish, kingfish, giant trevally, and more. Fully crewed and equipped for multi-day trips, our liveaboards let you fish at prime times, rest onboard, and wake up where the action is.

Professional Trolling Gear & Sportfishing Equipment

We equip all our fishing charters with top-tier trolling gear and tackle for serious performance and reliability at sea. Whether you’re fishing shallow reefs or heading offshore for big game, you’ll have the tools you need for a successful day on the water. Our gear includes Shimano Tiagra and Penn International reels (30lb–80lb class), high-quality custom trolling rods, outriggers and downriggers, assorted trolling lures, skirted baits, and rigged dead bait, as well as fighting chair and stand-up harness options, plus GPS, sonar, and fishfinder technology. We maintain and replace our gear regularly to meet the demands of seasoned sport fishermen, but if you’d like to bring your own tackle, just let us know in advance and we’ll make room.
