ABOUT
Sailing yacht Pelagic is a 38ft Maxim Catamaran. As a matter of fact, she has just undergone a major refurbishment in May 2023 and is looking splendid. This performance cruiser was designed by Alexander Simonis, built in South Africa by Maxim Yachts and distributed through Voyage Yachts. The Maxim 380 was the winner of the 2005 Cruising World Best New Catamaran under 40ft and she was built in 2003.
Pelagic is a very popular small cat for getting out cruising. Ample sail area and good sail handling systems make this an easy boat to sail, and that means safe too. The slight flair to the bows provide additional buoyancy forward and provides great performance in both light as well as heavy air. She boasts a spacious foredeck and super comfy trampolines. Perfect to take advantage of those lazy tropical summer days.
ACCOMMODATION ONBOARD
Pelagic has 3 comfortable double cabins on offer, 2 heads and showers and plenty of storage space.
Her saloon offers excellent headroom and boasts a clever layout in the saloon providing a secure yet spacious forward facing U-Shaped galley adjacent to a comfortable U-Shaped Dinette that can seat the full crew. She packs a whole lot of living into 38 feet. The navigation station faces aft on the back bulkhead of the Saloon.
The deck layout is designed for safety and shorthanded sailing with all controls leading to the cockpit. Take the two steps up to the helm and you’ll have great visibility all around with the instruments right there in a handy location. The cockpit has comfy cushions with a tasteful colour palette. There is an aft deck that serves as an extra entertainment space, bbq area or a nice swim platform.
